Stubble Permit Application
Instead of applying for a stubble burning permit from the Shire farmers must apply on line at https://firepermits.vic.gov.au/
If you have trouble with the application system (especially the mapping) check with somebody who has already worked it out, or try the help line on 0409 561436.

Things to note:
1. You will need to apply for different permits for different Brigade areas, are burning for different owners or in widely separate locations.
2. The CFA are more likely to approve applications if all the details are there.
3. Allow at least a week for the permit to be approved.
4.The permits will have stages 1 to 4 as in previous years.
5. It is up to the applicant to comply with weather conditions on the permit. However the CFA may revoke all permits at any time if the weather prediction looks bad.
6.There is a place at the end of the form to attach photos if you think that will help in the application

Acknowledge the risks. Tick the boxes . And then submit it.
And then.....: CFA will check and possibly grant the permit within the week. You will receive a copy by your preferred method, as will your Captain.
It will include all conditions including the relevant "Stage" conditions at the time, so read it carefully.
Your firebreak preparations may be checked by the CFA before the burn.
Repeating, you are responsible for applying by the weather and other conditions at the time of the burn, but the CFA may revoke all permits if they think the weather may be dangerous.
The day before the burn: Notify your captain and surrounding landowners, and note the burn on the Group Stubble Burns List.
The day of the burn: Notify Firecom (1800 668511) of your intention to burn and the permit number. (The details may get lost in the daily system reset if you notify them the day before).
After the burn: Many burns escape after you have left. Ensure that burns are patrolled until safe.
